Ellie at two.

Ellie turned two on September 12th. I am still trying to get over the fact that I no longer have a baby. Ellie is everything and more that I ever dreamed of. She has a way about her that makes people fall head over hills instantly.
At two Ellie:
*talks non stop. And her vocabulary is off the charts. She has the best memory and I am always amazed at what she picks up on.
*she loves to dance and sing. I once was told that happy children sing all the time. I am guessing Ellie must be extremely happy then.
* she is starting to love all different types of food again. Her favorites are but are not limited to: cheese, cereal, any liquid, candy, cookies, chocolate, suckers, really anything sugary, breads, Mac and cheese, French fries. Really the list goes on and on.
* Ellie is very much a girly girl and loves all things girly. She insists that all of her clothes are cute.
* at the moment she is obsessed with trains, Minnie Mouse, purses, keys, cell phones, dress ups and reading books.
* she is still off the charts for height and weight and is currently wearing some 3t clothing.

We seriously can't get enough of her and we are kind of obsessed. We are okay with that though.

It has been awhile.

I can't believe it has been over a year since my last blog post. Life got in the way and something had to go so this was it. I am back. Instead of trying to play catch up I am just going to start fresh from today. Just wait until you see Ellie! She is so big.

Ellie as of late.

Ellie is growing so much and is getting so fun. She is talking like crazy and becoming quite the little diva. Her hair is also getting really long and I am having so much fun doing cute hair dos. Anyway, at 18 months Ellie is: *running to get everywhere. *loves animals and goes crazy anytime we see any form of animal. *talks like crazy. She now says: grandma, grandpa, hot,"here you go",daddy,mommy,3 go,more, tickle tickle, eye, nose,Bella, night night, roll it,amen,hi,uh oh,no (says this to everything). She makes animal noises for cat, dog, cow, lion. *she is turning into such a girly girl and loves purses, jewelry, cell phones, shoes. *still loves everyone. *can sign words: more, please, thank you,and beautiful. She also folds her arms when we say we are going to pray. *blows her nose. She actually blows and will get us tissue if we ask. *loves to help us vacuum and clean up. *becoming a picky eater. Not a fan of meat but will eat anything involving bread. She loves fruits and vegetables especially tomatoes. Like her mom she LOVES sweets. *still such a binky and blanket baby.

Ellie's big birthday bash!

The cookies we made.

I guess I am one of those moms. I seriously thought about her first birthday for an entire year, and I started buying stuff six months in advance. Everything turned out great even though some things didn't go as planned. This little girl of ours is so spoiled it is crazy! Thank you to all those who came and celebrated Ellie's first year of life!

Our baby turned one!

Ellie Grace turned one today. We are still in shock that we have a one year old. she is getting so big and has all of a sudden turned into a toddler. We love this little girl so much it is crazy! On her birthday we got together with immediate family. She shares a birthday with her uncle Shawn so it was fun to celebrate his 40th as well.

At one year Ellie:
  • Walks around things like crazy and can sometimes stand on her own.  She seems very unsure of the whole walking thing though.
  • Says: Mama, Dada, ow, hi, hello, tickle tickle (not even kidding and it is so dang cute), uh oh when she drops something, OOHHH, moo like a cow.
  •  shakes her head no, waves bye, blows kisses, gives kisses, crawls over and climbs up on our legs,  gives high fives, gives hugs, feeds the dog, makes many many noises with her tongue and trys to mimic everything we do.  She also raises her hands above her head when we say so big.
  • Is getting a preference when it comes to foods she likes.  Her favorites are: Bread (any), cereal, fruit snacks, vegetables, any fruit, ravioli.  She doesn't like:  Mac N cheese, eggs, and deli meat.  LOVES LOVES LOVES milk.
  • Loves reading books.  She loves to sit for hours and flip the pages.
  • Loves Sesame Street and the Backyardagnes.
  • Loves music and always dances when a song comes on.
  • Is no longer taking a bottle.  Didn't even phase her when we took it away.
  • LOVES her pink and white blanket.  She is also still a binky baby.
  • Still a big girl although she is thining out.  She was in the 90th for everything at her last appointment.

Food.

It is no secret that Ellie loves food.  She is however getting more picky as she gets older.  Two things she refuses to eat are Mac N cheese and eggs.  We think it may be a texture thing.  Anyway, one day I picked her up from the babysitter and this is how I found her....I couldn't resist taking pictures instead of cleaning her up.
